I was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota, where the women are strong and the men are secure. After high school and cosmetology school, I moved to San Diego, CA to find myself. After I figured out that I was never lost, I found myself intrigued by the field of alternative health care (quite popular in California at the time).
For the next six years, while making a living running a small board and care facility for the elderly, I studied Carolyn Myss, a Medical Intuit and author, and Barbara Brennan, a former NASA Physicist and founder of the world-renowned school of healing. Over the years and through the course of my studies, I learned how to see and read the subtle energy systems in and around the body.
I moved back to MN, where I worked with physical and occupational therapists, learning about the structure and function of the body and how to facilitate rehabilitation for people with injuries from accidents or illness.
A few years of mid-western winters reminded me that I don’t like to be quite that cold. Needless to say, I started thinking about moving West again. One visit to Portland was all it took for me to fall in love with this beautifully diverse and eclectic city.
I completed massage school at East-West College of Healing Arts of Oregon in 1999, which rounded out my skill set, giving me a more holistic approach to bodywork.
I have been in the field of bodywork for over 20 years, I continue my education to this day, with extensive training in deep tissue, including alignment techniques and ligament strengthening. I have also studied Eastern modalities, working with the meridians and myo-muscular tissue and many forms of energy work, which helps me to see and feel the energy from stuck emotions and/or trauma, allowing me to help my clients release them.
My specialty is the ability to show people where resistances are in their body and mind, assisting its release so that their body can return to its natural state of health and well-being.
