Stay Sane & Healthy This Holiday Season With Essential Oils

We recently hosted a talk on how to strengthen your immune system and energetic boundaries using essential oils with doTERRA expert, Ariana Harley. If you’re new to essential oils, check out our blog on the topic for more information! In this blog, we’re going to cover a handful of essential oils that may be helpful for both symptoms and emotional issues that arise this time of year.

Learning how to set boundaries is an essential self-care practice and not only helps you stay energized, but focused and connected to what’s important. There are many ways to set healthy boundaries, and we find that by using essential oils, it’s easier to uphold them and feel stronger both physically and emotionally. We even sell essential oils at our studio, including all of the oils Ariana mentioned in her talk. Ariana recommends On Guard and Breathe essential oil blends, but Frankincense and Vetiver are also some of our favorites- here’s why:

On Guard is a blend of Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary essential oils. It’s a natural immune booster when used internally and can even be taken on a daily basis to maintain healthy immune and cardiovascular function. Additional benefits include support for the body’s natural antioxidant defenses and healthy circulation. This oil is also protective on an energetic level and will keep you feeling strong and alert. Clove oil is said to strengthen personal boundaries, by diffusing it in the air or diluting and massaging over your heart chakra according to Intuitive Soul. More info on how to use it is found on DoTerra’s website.

DoTERRA Breathe is a blend of essential oils including Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Lemon, Cardamom, Ravintsara, and Ravensara. Breathe makes breathing easier while minimizing the effects of seasonal threats (like pollen in spring, dampness in winter). This oil can be applied topically to the chest, back, or bottom of feet, or diffused at nighttime to calm the senses and promote a restful sleep. Eucalyptus is helpful in clearing negative energy, especially when people have been engaged in verbal, emotional or physical combat. Eucalyptus oil is great for cleaning out residual energy, as well as clearing out any stuck energy in the lungs. More info on how to use it is found on DoTerra’s website.

Frankincense, known as the king of oils, has been said to support healthy immune, nervous, and digestive function, as well as cellular function when used internally. When inhaled or diffused, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction, and overall wellness. This oil has been used for thousands of years for spiritual, physical and mental empowerment. It carries a high spiritual frequency, releasing powerful vibrations for protection, purification and grounding. Instructions on how to use this oil are found here.

Vetiver is incredibly grounding and can be helpful in calming the emotions. It can also be rubbed on the feet before bedtime to promote a restful night’s sleep. When taken internally, Vetiver can support a heathy immune system. On an energetic level, “Vetiver is a deep root that restores balance and will help you receive the support you need,” according to The Body Book. Use vetiver when you are feeling ungrounded, confused, or tired. Vetiver is a potent oil for releasing negative thoughts and provides psychic protection. This healing plant promotes a sense of belonging and calm which is very helpful in stressful situations. Vetiver is also great to use if you are a highly sensitive person, as it protects your energy from others. You can read more about it and how to take it here.
