What do Snow Lotus essential oils have to do with BodyQuirks? Well, we like good vibes, especially those from high-quality products that work. That’s why when our own BodyQuirks co-founder and Licensed Massage Therapist, Tara Krupich recently studied with Snow Lotus founder, Peter Holmes LAc, MH and fell in love with his high vibrational oils, we decided we needed to send those good vibrations on to all our BQ friends.
What are essential oils?
If you’re new to essential oils, you should know that they are naturally occurring, aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy describes the term ‘essential oil’ as a contraction of the original term ‘quintessential oil’, used by the Greeks. They believed essential oils contained the quintessence or “life force” of plants and that distillation and evaporation were the processes of removing the spirit from the plant.
Essential oils are what give plants their distinctive scent, protect them, and play a role in their pollination. In addition to essential oils intrinsic benefits to plants and their fragrance, they have been used for food preparation, beauty, and health-care practices for over 5,000 years!
